Cancer Throws You Into Hell.
This Community Throws You a Lifeline.
Tired of the "Just Be Positive" Bullsh*t?
You're more than your cancer story. You deserve a space where you can be your whole, messy, human self, without judgment. This is that space.
Welcome to Ashes of Courage: Your Free, Drama-Free
Cancer Support Community.
Does This Feel Like You?
You're navigating the hell of cancer and you feel...
Alone? Like no one really gets the invisible scars you're carrying.
Tired? Of the drama, the toxic positivity, and the "just be grateful" comments.
Frustrated? By support groups that turn into "trauma-comparing" contests of "who had it worse?"
Done? Just... so done with feeling like you have to be a "strong," perfect patient.
If you're ready for a different kind of support, you’re in the right place.
Imagine a Space Where You Can Finally Exhale.
Imagine a community where you can show up exactly as you are… angry, sad, hopeful, scared, or all of it at once.
This is a space with zero drama and zero judgment.
Be seen as a whole person, not just a diagnosis and connect with fellow warriors who get it without you having to explain a thing.
This is Ashes of Courage.
Meet Your Guides
Hey!
I'm Ryn Sloane, a Holistic Cancer Recovery Coach, breast cancer survivor and thriver and your personal guide on the journey back home to yourself.
During my cancer experience, I felt extremely alone and didn’t feel like I belonged or that people understood me (story of my life), especially when all the photos at the clinic and in the pamphlets were of people much, much older than me.
Isolating is one of the worst things to do during and beyond a cancer diagnosis and I never want you to feel alone like I did.
So, I created the support community I wish I had when I was going through hell.
It's my gift to you and to us - so you don’t feel alone because cancer’s hard enough as it is.
Hi! I’m Candice and I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Breast Cancer young and got hit with the full emotional aftermath: PTSD, fear of recurrence, all the “what ifs.” After 8 years in remission, I got the news I feared most: Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer. Prognosis? One year. I was pissed, terrified, and overwhelmed with everything I hadn’t done yet.
Ryn and I met in 2023 and we declared that we were soul sisters!
We later set out to create a support community that was inclusive, drama and judgement-free and where people felt like people, not cancer patients.
Ashes of Courage was born and it’s your place to feel heard, seen and understood by people who get it… because we do.
What’s Waiting For You Inside!
This is your private, all-in-one community (NOT on Facebook) for real connection.

Answers to your Questions!

Ashes of Courage is hosted on a private, dedicated platform (Heartbeat). This means: Zero ads. Zero distractions. Zero data-mining. It's not tied to your public social media, so your privacy and safety are our absolute top priority.
-
It means this is a real support community, not a place to compare stories or trauma. We have a zero-tolerance policy for "who had it worse" comparisons, unsolicited medical advice, or toxic positivity ("just be positive" nonsense). This is a strictly-moderated, judgment-free space for real, human connection.

YES. This community was built for all cancer warriors at every stage of the Aftermath. We have dedicated spaces and members who are survivors, Stage 4 thrivers, and the caregivers who support them. We believe that we’re stronger together.

We started as a breast cancer support group since that was my experience a well as Candice’s, however, we have had people ask to join who had different types of cancer, so of course, we opened our arms to them and now support ALL cancer types! We’re proudly all-inclusive.
